Michael Bierut is well known as a graphic designer, design critic and educator. He had been serving as a vice president of graphic design at Vignelli Associates. After that he started as a partner in the New York office of Pentagram. He has got full credit of all success of Pentagram through his dedication on work.
He is also well famous as a leader of team of graphic designers who create identity design, environmental graphic design and editorial design solutions. He has come on TED talk.
Biography: He was born in 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio. In his childhood, he loved fine art, music, and drawing. But that time graphics design was not famous and adult didn’t use it. But he decided in his childhood for maintaining his career in same field and now, he has achieved.
Education: He took his education of graphics designing from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning.
Achievements: He has taken hundreds of design awards. His work is well known for the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in New York. It is not enough to explain his work because his work is also well recognized for the Library of Congress in Washington, DC; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA); the Denver Art Museum; the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg, Germany; and the Museum für Gestaltung in Zürich, Switzerland.
High Lights: He has served as the national president of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) since 1998 to 2001 and has been working as a senior critic in graphic design at the Yale School of Art.
